Surgical options can play an integral role in a holistic cancer treatment plan.
What is Surgical Oncology?
Summit’s Surgical Oncology department provides diagnosis, staging, and cancer treatment plans for our patients. Determining if a patient is a candidate for cancer surgery depends on several patient specific factors, including the tumor type, size, location, and stage. Your general health will also be a factor. For many of our patients, surgery is combined with other cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy to help prevent the cancer from growing, spreading or recurring after treatment.
